As SR says, use a bit or wire. Better advice could be given if you could say what the application is, frequency band, protocol, size constraints etc.

Take a search engine of your choice and search the WWW for "Rothammel Antennen Buch".

This book is the bible of practical antenna design.

do a search for homebrew antenna
do a search for DIY antenna
ham radio guys do this. research ham radio antenna or amateur radio antenna.
you must know the frequency or wavelength of the radio signal. they are mathematically related; if you know one, you know the other.

Hmmm. I have a Heathkit Cantenna. It is a 50 Ohm resistor in a gallon of transformer oil. Rated for 100 watts for about 10 minutes.
