Hey guys, I'd like to ask which brands of power modules are better to use?
The ones you buy from reputable suppliers who support their products are the best choices. They are usually a bit more expensive than the junk sold on eBay, Amazon and Alibaba.
The ones with a brand are probably going to be a better choice than the ones that have no brand.
But take care: many "branded" products have a brand name which is a random jumble of letters. You see the same product sold with many different brand names and all those names are different jumbles of letters. When you look closely at the product packaging, case and labels, there is often no brand mentioned at all. These are not truly branded products at all.
I use MeanWell power supplies, always found them to be of good quality (they are available on Amazon at least where I live). They offer various voltage and watts for various usage.
Agreed, I use them too.
If they're good enough for RS Components, they're good enough for me.
A decent power module, PCB or plugtop, wallwart is is worth paying more for safety alone.
As mentioned, Meanwell, and XP Power have served me well, as have redundant PSUs from branded equipment like laptops and routers.
You don't want a house fire thanks to a cheap PSU.
