I always suggest a diode with cathode to the Nano TX, anode to the 3.3 V device, and a fairly stiff (1k) pullup to 3.3 V on the 3.3 V device. (Read "3.3" or "3.6". :grin:)

There is then absolutely no chance of the 3.3 V device seeing more than 3.3 V. :+1:
