Was it a conscious decision to eliminate the "Recent" choice under "File" tab?
It was kinda handy after all....
..just wondering...

IDE 2.3.0
I have since upgraded to 2.3.2 which has the File -> Open Recent feature. Didn't notice in 2.3.0, but maybe it was an oversight which has since been corrected. I agree, it is handy sometimes.
Thanks... I'll look for it in the next update.,.. ![]()
Hi @edthewino. There is a File > Open Recent menu in Arduino IDE 2.3.0:

If you aren't seeing one, it might only be that you don't have any recent sketches. The menu is only present if there is something to populate it.
Please try this:
Do you now see an Open Recent menu item?
Something to note is that only saved sketches are added to the Open Recent menu. When you open an example, Arduino IDE opens it in a new sketch project. For this reason, example sketches you open are not added to the Open Recent menu unless you save the example sketch.
Nope. This did not work beause File > Sketchbook was also NOT an option.
I did Open and then save a couple sketches but "Recent" never appeared afterwards.
???
Butttttt..... I did go ahead and install the 2.3.2 update when prompted after a restart & the IDE and loaded up everything and now ALL tabs are once again present. Yay!!!
Don't ask me what was going on because the microprocessor world is sometimes a mysterious place..... lol....

I'm glad it is working now. Thanks for taking the time to post an update!
