Improvement: USB Serial connection

"Genuine" Serial conection is just shity. I know i was frustrated before, had the original arduino uni rev 3 for 40€ and it is a hell of a mess that the IDE knows when it is connected and when not...
ok... but since two months i got the chinese arduino mega for 10$ with a ch340 chip for usb to serial.
and this thing is getting me far less frustration than "genuine".
i do not know what is happeng but at least i do not need to restart the whole arduino ide java thingy and wait 1 minute to restart, just that it will detect the uno on com7, even though the device manager shows it the next second i plug it in...

this is one thing while i will not donate my money if i see that it is not going invested into the things that matter for me: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ContributionFAQ

make a kicstarter / votebox system where i can vote for things that need to be implemented as higher priority.

My backstory:
I am working with the arduino for the last year now, and the thing is comming very frustrating to use.
I have been trying to get to work a sketch that one month ago worked and is now just somehow screewed in i do not know why.

I have been installing it on a second PC to see if it is computer related or did anything other changed (i know i put some libriares from the new library system installing).

Did you select it from the port menu... Are you using outdated software (we established that in one of your many other 'frustration' posts).

There is nothing that is selectable in the port menu.
arduino ide was 1.6.4

i had open both the ide and device manager and somehow arduino ide does not manage to get everytime the correct ports...
for some time it also seems that i need to connect the usb and first here i can start arduino ide so it will find the arduino.

Works for me, the port menu is refreshed every time you open tools.

I concur with you. The port shows up in device manager as soon as the device is connected, then some time later the ide shows that port.
