I was finishing a project but it seems like after switching from sodering to a breadboard the SD card module stopped working for my esp32. It gives the error initialisation failed! I have tried many fixes but they app did not work. Can anybody help, i want this to work and it is really weird that it stopped working
check your soldering job?
(not sure what you mean exactly)
At first i soderd the components but now i use a breadboard.
could you have damaged the board (created a short circuit) when unsoldering it?
Check with a voltmeter, (multimeter), that there is no electrical "leakage" in your soldering iron.
It is easy to mis-place wires "one-pin-off" in a breadboard... verify or post a picture.
using the right pins, d5, d18, d19, d23 and grnd and 3.3v
i just tried the same module on an arduino and that worked fine
It just amazes me how people figure that instead of making 'full disclosure' the expectation is that everyone else should guess what's going on over there or otherwise coax bits and pieces of information.
what do you want me to tell you
A non-destructive, physical inspection (to include smelling the devices) is the very first step in finding the problem. After all physical connections are verified, then verify electrical measurements. The last step will be software (each device, then the system).
A drawing (what you want it to look like).
A picture (what it looks like - how are you connecting this SD module to the ESP32? Arduino?)
"Worked fine" must mean the SD module is in working condition... did you transfer data?
sorry for not specifiyng that i use a esp32 dev kit. this is how it is supposed to look like and this is also how it looks like now
