So I am still learning the ways of arduino and such. I am working on a project to use a stepper motor with a lead screw to open a close a chicken door. I bought this model stepper motor because it came with the screw on it and assumed it would work with an L298N driver that I already had, but now after more research I am getting the vibe it will not.
So will this work? If not would I be better off getting a 5V stepper motor or a new driver, or is there a simple fix to make the L298N handle this motor?
Thank you in advance.
The L298 is totally unsuitable for that low impedance motor. You need a current limiting stepper motor driver, and this one from Pololu will work well. Be sure to follow the directions to wire it and set the current limit appropriately.
