The CP2102 is USB to UART chip from Silicon Labs.
You can get the drivers for this device here: CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers - Silicon Labs
None of the official Arduino boards have ever used this chip, so you must have a clone.

It turns out it was the cable!!!
Purchased a new cable from sparkfun and now it recognized the board and works fine.
So Ya-Nvr-No
Never Give up
Hi,
I had an Arduino Leonardo for Xmas. The laptop (Dell XPS 1330) does not seem to recognize the driver, no matter the vesion I install. Anything new about first Clamon's post??
Thank you
Marta
It has more to do with what operating system you have rather than the laptop model. What system do you have installed?
I had the same problem. To fix this, I disable Windows' driver signature checking. To do this, reboot as normal and press F8 like crazy. Then you will have the advanced boot menu and select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement". This should solve the problem but only if I use usb2 port. For some reason, I cannot use usb3.
Hi i'm a french newbie so excuse my poor english
So i bought an olimex 32U4 (leonardo) it works on my desktop(the blink example i didn't have the time to try more on it) but i have to work on my office on a dell vostro 3550 win7 pro 64b and I can't upload a sketch on it. I'm student and I have a project for my job and i do the dev on an atmel 32U4 this is the reason for using leonardo like.
Anyway i try a lot of things and I need some help, after reading the posts I search for the vid/pid
USB\VID_2341&PID_8036&REV_0100&MI_00 is that it means that the leonardo use a virtual hub?
when i try to upload a sketch I've seen that the device manager refresh 2/3 time and that could be explain that the pc take to more time after the reset to recognyze the board?
if you have any idea... =(
Might be a fluke, but I was having the same problem as you guys, and when i connected the Leonardo to
another USB-port ; the driver installed itself automatically with no fuzz.
Might be worth a try;-)
Hope it helps.
Had the same USB port problem. Notably, the USB port that it would not work in was a USB 3.0 port.
I can get Uno R3 and Leonardo to work with win xp, get Uno R3 to work with Win 7 64-bit.
I can't get Leonardo to work with Win 7 64-bit.
I searched and couldn't find general reliable solution to this problem.
Is there any progress?
Thanks.
I have the same issue with a Yun, not surprisingly as it is similar to the Leonardo.
Als win7 64 bit.
Just solved mu issue. Put it in a USB2.0 iso a USB3.0 port and then it works
Hi!
I just had the same problem with my Arduino Leonardo on a DELL with Windows 8.0 64Bit.
I fixed it by disabling the driver signature enforcement as mentioned by radomp above! After that the install was successful and the first program is now running!!
Thank you very much!!!
Just to let you guys know - I faced the same issue. Changing port to USB 2.0 solved the issue.
It's a shame my motherboard has only 2x USB 2.0 and it requires me diving behind the desk. It would be fantastic if Arduino Leonardo would work with USB 3.0, eg. my Mega 2560 doesn't have this issue.
0-lordie, i rambled thru this whole forum subject. Finally tried changing from USB 3.0 port to 2.0 port and it WORKED.
USB SUCKS, VERY POORLY DESIGNED INTERFACE, PLUS THE CONNECTORS ARE A PAIN TO INSERT
I am having an issue with installing the drivers for my recently purchased a tinkerkit T110061 led module that has an arduino leonardo connected to it. and im trying to install the drivers for it onto my windows xp 32bit computer and i cant find the drivers at all and i cant find the libary that is required to use it and i realy need help to get the drivers
Any chance of this USB 2 / Leonardo in Win7 issue being fixed with new drivers? Or is it a hardware / OS problem?
Very irritating.
I found solution for my laptop. I switched to lock state every internal USB devices like bluetooth, camera and something else, except from external usb ports

Hey guys,
I have the same problem with my Arduino Pro Micro (seems to report itself as a Leonardo in the device manager).
When i plug it into my screen's USB hub, it is listed as: VID_2341&PID_8036 - and doesn't work.
In my motherboard USB it is: VID_2341&PID_0036, and it works.
I did not yet find a solution to get it working on the hub.
So thanks to zeveland, at least we have a workaround
Edit:
The PID seems to be kind of random. Now it reported as 8036 in the motherboard USB, and it also works.
