Item-locator using arduino

yo, im trying to create an item locator using two esp32. I wanna incorporate RSSI to make finding the item easier. I want to know if this is possible? and if it is what materials do i need?

I moved your topic to an appropriate forum category @qzamathi.

In the future, please take some time to pick the forum category that best suits the subject of your topic. There is an "About the _____ category" topic at the top of each category that explains its purpose.

This is an important part of responsible forum usage, as explained in the "How to get the best out of this forum" guide. The guide contains a lot of other useful information. Please read it.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

The thing you need to be aware of is that RSSI can be affected by more than distance.

It's not.

it it really not possible? I'm not trying to get an exact distance i just want it to estimate if it's near or far

How will your circuit be able to determine whether the device is far away, or it just happens to be behind the metal coffee tin in the kitchen 3ft away? How does it distinguish from your little brother running back and forth with the thing you're looking for, or somebody trying to defrost something in the microwave which similarly will affect signal strength readings?

Signal strength isn't a reliable indicator of distance, unless you're in an open field and the TX antenna emits a perfectly spherical field. Neither of these conditions generally apply in a real-world case.

So no, it's not really possible, at least not in a very useful way.
