Karma?

I see you can add karma, but the forum no longer displays the current karma for users. Will this change back to displaying the karma? If not, then you should remove the "Add Karma" link.

I see your karma points.

I see everyone's karma points as well.

Rob

It has changed in the last couple hours. A moderator said that part would be changed to reflect the karma in my user profile, but the 500 or so post counts that are missing now will not reappear. Win some, lose some.

However, this is not my major concern now. I see the number of posts per page in any topic is 5 unless you are logged in, and when you are logged in, the post order is "backwards" (newest post at the top, oldest at the bottom.

Yep. And, the focus is at the bottom of the page. Someone is not doing something really simple right.

The "backwards" can be fixed, see http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=273614.30 reply #44. Looks like a couple of user options reverted to the default.

The jump to bottom has to be changed, that makes the forum almost unusable.

Rob

OK, I fixed the "backwards" in my profile settings "look and layout". Thanks for that tip. Getting a little closer anyway.

Yeah it will get there eventually (I hope  )

Rob

@Graynomad thanks alot for all and for the support i totally appreciate this.
The karma was restored.

Why did you button the "Homepage button"

My karma is "working" again, but not what I would expect. I am getting karma on my posts (now count is 161), but not on my profile (still 159).

I know you have bigger fish to fry right now, but just saying...

But it does take you to the "go up" button!

I can not understand . I would like to ask what is the role of karma button?

If you like the help you have received from an individual in reply to a question you posted or just like some comment they made in a post then you can give them Karma to make them feel good/inflate there ego.

inflate there ego.

Like I did for you...

The negative karma of the past was a lot more fun!

Which just goes to show that the 'Karma' rating has little or no real value.

There was a (silly) idea floated on the moderator mailing list a while back that karma could be used as cash at the Arduino store. Got to keep working on getting karma points in case that ever becomes a reality.

Or to feed my ego, whichever is more likely.

It is the only way we get "paid" (thanked) for our "work" (donated time).

I think it also helps newbies figure out who knows and who doesn't. All being equal, the karma breaks the tie in most cases.

Just my opinion...

BTW, it costs nothing to give karma.

Or to feed my ego, whichever is more likely.

And I see no harm in getting your ego fed now and then.
