There is a dearth of info on the LC12S 2.4ghz module, so I thought I'd post my findings in case others are having the issues I had after buying a handful of these $.75 modules.

it works, but slow, 70ms for 45 bytes, this is not 38k4 baud
there is a 4 ms gap between each 3 bytes on the receive side !
i can not find why
