Lcd keypad shield to arduino with pcb

Can i stack a lcd with keypad shield above arduino uno with pcb? The pcb plugged in to this uno, then i want to add lcd with keypad. Thank you!

Provide links to what you have in mind for your setup

I want to write about glucometer with arduino for my bachelor tesis. Since the project in this link doesn’t have screen, i want to add lcd with buttons:)https://hackaday.io/project/11719-open-source-arduino-blood-glucose-meter-shield#menu-logs

Welcome! Looks like what you need is something so you can plug both shields into the Arduino. A couple of things:

  • Shields may share pins. This may be a problem. You can use an Arduino Mega.
  • The PCB has no header pins on top, so you can't stack shields. Maybe solder some pins to the PCB, use something to split pins so you don't have to stack, use screw terminal shields to wire up the pins, or use a breadboard with jumper wires to connect the shield.

These are all challenges, so remember we are always here to help!

So i should solder a header above the pcb then i can add the lcd keypad shield?

You will have to determine what is possible based on the schematic of the blood glucose meter shield and the lcd keypad shield.

I haven't found the schematic ofyour blood glucose meter, only a PCB layout of the top which indicates A1 and D2 being used; the bottom of that shield might reveal more pins that are used; but the schematic is the holy grail.

Schematics of LCD/keypad shields can be found on the web.

It would be better to desolder the headers from your blood glucose meter shield and stick the new headers through and solder.
