led strip WS2812B not fully switch on

Hello

I noob in arduino and I tried to use it with a WS2812B 5v led strip.

To do that I have :

  • arduino Uno
  • 120 WS2812B leds on a strip 5v
  • power 5v/20A
  • a capacitor on the led power
  • a R470 between the arduino output and the led data

I use the sandtest of neo pixel library like that :

But just approximately 60 leds are used. I really don't know why.

I tested the volt between the ground (on alim) and the last led (who is switch off) and I have 5v. Same thing with the data cable.

And when I switch on the power of the leds (arduino is on USB) some leds after num 60 stay on in a random color (so they are not dead). The strip.show(); is done juste on the 60 first leds.

I want to understand what is the issue. Why all my led are not on ?

These may power up in undefined conditions.

Either physically remove them from the string or define the actual LED count total in your code.

I defined the good count of led in the code (see 120 above). But it like the arduino can't handle all the leds. I checked the ram and I have more 1200 free.

I tried with another led strip, I have the same statement.

I tried with another arduino Uno -> same statement.

I tried with a compter power supply -> same statement.

Do I have error in my setup or code ?

I always worry when you have an incorrect comment by a piece of code.

That statement does not do that function, it simply shows what you have in the array, which at this time you have not defined.
Also some other stuff is a little odd.

Try this code and see if it works for the full 120 LEDs
