Lenovo tablet pairing with BLE (HC-05, HM-10, AT-09 etc. ) boards?

I have worked for over 8 hours on this task, including long conversations with Lenovo techs. All boards work on Samsung with the same wiring, and I have gotten them to work on "DSD tech bluetooth" app and "Bluetooth monitor app" by Merai, but nothing works on Lenovo despite resetting all (including "factory" reset), making sure power was adequate through the board at 5V, with 3.3V for pins through voltage divider. I even went to Best Buy to try the latest Lenovo tablets with software version 13. The frustrating part is the Lenovo tablet will ask for a password and make you wait, then join for a full three seconds, then DUMP you. I did not mess with AT commands etc.

My project involves an array of sensors which basically set one of 27 pins high or low to get a player to take action. The app has worked flawlessly . Now I would like to bluetooth the data to the tablet to accomplish the same thing.

Has ANYONE gotten Lenovo tablets to pair with a data BLE board from a nano or mega? If so which ones, and how? Thank you in advance!!!

HC-05 is not BLE.

Thank you for the correction. I was not clear in my question, but I cannot get either standard or BLE to work on the Lenovo tablet and I cannot find anything about this issue despite trying hard. It seems like I should be able to have a basic function like this on a "standard" tablet. Maybe there is a correction possible by AT commands, but I am not very knowledgeable in this area. Again, thank you for your help! Paul

No AT commands needed. If the HC 05 LED is flashing, the tablet should see it in the Settings.

HC -05 is seen, asks for password, "connects" ,then dumps me consistently after 2-3 seconds. Won't let me try again without resetting/forgetting. The LED stays solid though, not blinking as before pairing . Shows up in previously connected devices.

Thank you!

HC-05 is old. It worked well with 2006 era thinkpads (x61, T61). If you don't have these ... make your live easier, dump that junk and get a contemporary BTLE module (or a ESP32)

Thanks Faraday! I also tried HM -10 and AT-09 and these work fine on the Samsung with the apps mentioned. But nothing stays paired on Lenovo.

My biggest question is: can anyone use these with Lenovo? If so, what are you doing/using? Thanks for the help!

It sounds rather like a power problem. I believe HC-05 requires a lot more power when communicating than it does when quiescent. Please don't tell me you are running this on a 9v PP3.

There is nothing junk about HC-05.

No, I'm questioning the Lenovo😊! I read about power problems, in another reply you gave (thanks!) so I powered it off the 5v pin on arduino, powered off USB on laptop.

Why does it connect(name goes up to the "connect" row for 2 seconds) then drop?

Is anyone using these on a Lenovo?

Thanks in advance!

Paul
