Continuing my problem-solving- not sure I am getting anywhere, but I connected my device via the cloud interface in the browser with the Cloud Blink thing, and I can now make the LED switch on and off on my board (UNO R4 wifi)
The cloud icon is active in the sketch. The sketch must have been loaded on the board while associating the device—or in an earlier attempt when opening the template.(??)
To test the USB connection, I then sent the sketch via USB.
Afterward, I return to the dashboard, where the switch does not activate or deactivate the LED. My connected device now shows up offline.
Sure enough, I can wake it up with the reset button, but it looks like the Arduino board is kicked off when I send the sketch via USB.
