MacOS Sequoia serial port problem

Hi guys, recently I tried to connect my arduino uno R3 to a M1 macbook air, and it doesn’t show any serial port, there’s a driver I can download for macos sequoia?

There is no driver needed.

Make sure you use a quality USB cable or ideally go through a USB C hub with the "old" USB ports

Mac not showing proper serial port ("usbmodem").

What one user before me discovered about Mac's failure to show a proper serial port... it's not the port, it's the cable. And like so many before me, using a different cable solved the problem. Use a quality DATA cable ( not a charging-only cable). Worked for me.

If you use a charging cable then it’s on you - it would not work on a windows or Linux either…

Newer Macs with USB-C ports assess the quality of the connected cable, particularly when interfacing with USB 2.0 devices, to ensure it can handle the required power delivery and data transfer rates.

If the cable does not meet the necessary standards—such as proper shielding or correct resistance levels—the Mac may shut down the connection to prevent issues like data errors, power inconsistencies, or potential damage to the USB-C port.

This protective measure helps maintain the integrity and safety of both the Mac and the connected USB 2.0 device.

So yes - a quality cable is required or going through a hub will also help.
