Making door unlock switch wireless

I was thinking of starting an automation project for my security system. I already have video door phone and electronic lock.

I want to make a switch for the door lock wireless. The wires for door lock are already connected to this video panel which has connection to door bell and door lock.

As per my analysis i can connect the wires coming to this panel from door to my arduino kit through which i can switch on the button on press of button in my phone or anything else. So Need some information for this project regarding the hardware and feasibility.

Without doing ANY more, you need to verify that you can do this much. Connect the wires. Set the appropriate pin HIGH. Make sure the door locks or unlocks. After some time, set the pin LOW. Make sure that the door does the other thing when that happens.

Making the system wireless doesn't happen until it works wired.
