I'm trying to measure AC current with ACS712 and Arduino Uno Board. I use Function Generator to generate AC source . I put 11k ohm resistor as a load. Then i connect ACS712 in Series with the Circuit. The analog count appear on the serial monitor is always 0 no matter what input AC voltage I put. Please help me with this issue.
For informed help, please read and follow the instructions in the posting guide, titled "How to get the best out of this forum".
Looking at the code you posted along with the schematic you posted... Oh wait a moment, you posted no code and no schematic so how can anyone tell you what the problem is? My crystal ball is out for repairs so I have no idea what's wrong. How about you read forum guidelines and get back posting your code using proper code tags and a schematic? That would help anyone here help you.
Thank You
Ron
Well to generate a current of just 100mA your AC voltage would need to be 11k x 100mA = 1100V
Can your function generator do 1.1Kilovolts AC.
Do you see what you are doing wrong?
In other words... The current is nearly zero!
Generally, if you have a known load you measure the voltage (if unknown) and then calculate current.
Or sometimes you just need to calculate the maximum (or "worst case") current with the expected minimum load.
Current is the most difficult of the 3 common measurements (voltage, current, and resistance) and it's the least-often done.
