MIDI Library with Arduino NANO Every board

I have been struggling to get my Every board to receive MIDI commands using MIDI library.
I have wired 5 pins MIDI socket via optocupler to the RX0 pin (pin 17 on the Every) the circuit and code works perfectly with UNO board but not working with the Every board.

I tried the solution offered here:

but I still don't get any midi command.

Has anyone managed to work with midi and this board, what is the method to make it work?
