Midi Over USB and DIN simultaneously

Hi there i'm and absolute newbee at this and am so lost as to why this code isnt working. I have basically been copying example files and pasting into one file and for some reason. its not working.

Im trying to get 7 buttons to send a midi note on/off value to both the midi out (trx) and over the Usb simultaneously. I can get them to work individually but no joy doing them at the same time??

Someone please help!!!!!!

I have included the code and im using a Leonardo board also tried it with the Pro Micro?

FYI with the code above only the midi out is working!

The reason it is not working is exactly because you have been copying example files and pasting into one file, without understanding what you are doing.

See this note

Note it says:- Arduino UNO ONLY!.
But you say.

also

Which MIDI out is this the one on the 5 pin connector or the USB one?

On a Leonardo or Micro (same processor) to get at a normal serial port, you have to use Serial1, not just Serial, as that port is busy communicating with the USB.

Hey Grumpy Mike thanks for your replies man. Yeah I actually have no idea what i'm doing! I saw that it was for the uno. This part of the code works over usb and then the rest works over TRX so the new guy thought yeah i will just put them together and hope it works!! Obviously I need humbling here!!! Any help is much appreciated!!

const uint8_t velocity = 0b1111111; // This sets default velocity to 100% (127 value)
const uint8_t C4 = 60; // Name the note you want to play when the button is pushed(can be anything, C3...D5...E2)
const uint8_t Csharp4 = 61;  // uncomment to use in sketch
const uint8_t D4 = 62;  // uncomment to use in sketch
const uint8_t Dsharp4 = 63;
const uint8_t E4 = 64;
const uint8_t F4 = 65;
const uint8_t Fsharp4 = 66;
const uint8_t G4 = 67;
const uint8_t Gsharp4 = 68;

// Format is this: button[number] (pin, note, channel, velocity)
// Format is this: button[number] (pin, note, channel, velocity)

Digital button1(2, C4, 1, velocity);
Digital button2(3, Csharp4, 1, velocity); // uncomment to use in sketch
Digital button3(4, D4, 1, velocity); //uncomment to use in sketch
Digital button4(5, Dsharp4, 1, velocity);
Digital button5(6, E4, 1, velocity);
Digital button6(7, F4, 1, velocity);
Digital button7(8, Fsharp4, 1, velocity);
Digital button8(9, G4, 1, velocity);

And this alone works over TRX midi out
