Minor flaw makes it impossible to 'nudge'

Viewing code in the forum I'm unable to use the upward 'nudge up' arrow at the top of the vertical scroll bar, as it's hidden. I'm using Chrome.

Unable

It's the same here using Chrome on Windows 10 but I had never noticed because I always use the mouse scroll wheel to move small distances up/down in code blocks

I had noticed it, but I also just use the scroll wheel.

Am I the only one using a keyboard?

Well, it's possible with advanced technique to use both, though if I said simultaneously someone would quibble. :grinning:

Thanks. I checked my wheel setting and have changed it from 3 to1, so I'll use that in future like you both.

Roll the wheel one notch to scroll:
The following number of lines at a time:

BTW, I note that when a single line nudge is still too much, very careful use of the scroll bar can get well below that.

Thanks for your report @Terrypin. I have also occasionally been bothered by this.

I verified this is a bug in the Discourse forum software Arduino Forum is built on, so I reported it to the Discourse developers on your behalf:

From what I can tell, the only way for Arduino to resolve this would be removing that copy button. I think the copy button is quite useful and its presence only makes scrolling less convenient so my opinion is that "the cure is worse than the disease" in this case and we would be better off leaving things as they are now until a true fix is made upstream.

I agree, best left as it is. The occasions that prompted my post had the double-arrow offering to take me full screen, which I don't recall ever using. But I find the copy icon very handy.

Good point @Terrypin. I focused on the copy button and forgot to mention that the expand button added when the codeblock has a horizontal scrollbar also causes the same interference. They are both part of the same show copy button on codeblocks feature.

I added that information to the bug report.

The Discourse developers fixed the problem last week:

The forum has now been updated to the version of the Discourse software that contains the fix.

Pretty good response time!
