Hi! I have a mini smart garden project in which I use MKR 1310 and I want to use a touchscreen display to have a view of the parameters collected from the sensors and to control some electrovalves. At the time I have GIGA Display Shield, but it seems difficult to connect them directly as I wish. As an alternative I find Adafruit 3.5" TFT (ILI9486, SPI).
What are your recommendations? Which tool should I use as a touchscreen display? Thank you!
not used a MKR1310 but have used a MKRFOX
for a SPI touch display you would probably require seven GPIO pins, e.g.
TFT_MISO pin D10
TFT_MOSI pin D8
TFT_SCK pin D9
TFT_SS pin D?
TFT_DC pin D?
TFT_RST pin D?
TOUCH_CS pin D?
do you have sufficient spare pins?

These displays use SPI to communicate, 4 or 5 pins are required to
interface (RST is optional)

Meanwhile I bought a Touch Screen Display TFT, SPI 3.95", ILI9488, didn't find from Adafruit. This one seems to be from Terra Cell and I hope that Adafruit libraries will work out on it too. The pinout of the display is the same as yours. Regarding the number of pins available on MKR, at this time I am working on a separate board, so I have all pins available. After integrating it in the final irrigation system, maybe I can try sending the data through LoRa to another MKR to which I will connect the display, in case there are not sufficient pins on one board.
Thank you very much for your help! For now I will try to connect the MKR with the new
display and I come back with the results:)
