mlx90614

Greetings  , Hope you are having a nice day, well let's get to the point.

I'm using a mlx90614 , a sensor to measure the body temperature , the problem is that It gives me wrong values , I used it on myself and instead of giving me something like 97°F-99°F/36°C-37°C or so (normal body temperature) , it gives me about 28°C/82°C. the measument is done at more less one inch of my forehead

What do I need to do in order to get an accurate measument?

is it about the code? or maybe I need another sensor?

The sensor measures skin temperature, which is lower than body temperature.

Also, the sensor assumes black body radiation and needs to be calibrated for surfaces that are not "black bodies". To test how accurate it is, you could paint a tin can flat black on the outside, and fill it with water at an accurately known temperature. The can will emit black body radiation at that temperature, assuming well mixed water.
