Does anyone know what size/type of mounting screws are supposed to be used to attach the Arduino Mega 2560 Revision 3 to the clear plastic base that it comes with? The holes to mount the clear base to something else are M3, but the holes to bolt the actual Arduino PCB to the clear base are M3 sized but do not allow enough clearance for the screw head/nut/washer, and the corresponding holes in the actual clear base are too small for M3.

I 3D print bases and use 4-40 hardware. The 3d base is wide enough so the panel mounting tabs are clear of the screw terminal shield. Adding a power distro board (PDB) completes the stack for a ready to mount & wire Mega 2560 engine:
