My Arduino Nano type USB-C not uploading code

Hi, I’m having a problem with my Arduino Nano USB-C.
When I upload my code, it compiles normally, but then I get this error:

I’m using an Arduino Nano USB-C and Arduino IDE. The board is detected on COM3, but I can’t upload anything to it.
I’ve already tried uploading the code again, but I keep getting the same error.
Does anyone know what I should check or change in the Arduino IDE?

Thanks!

  1. Did it work in the past?
  2. Have you tried the different options under tools → processor?
  3. Does your board indeed have the 328P processor or something else (LGT8G328P, 328PB, ...)?
  4. Is anything connected to pins 0 and 1? Disconnect it as it can interfere with uploads.
  5. Is anything else connected (except USB)? Disconnect it.
  6. What is the serial-to-usb converter (the IC at the back of the board)?
  7. Which version of the IDE?

Hi! It’s brand new so I haven't used it before, and nothing is connected except the USB cable (pins 0 and 1 are free). I'm on the latest Arduino IDE, my board has an ATmega328PB processor, and the chip on the back is the CH340. I already tried switching the processor settings under Tools, but no luck.

You can try to install GitHub - MCUdude/MiniCore: Arduino hardware package for ATmega8, ATmega48, ATmega88, ATmega168, ATmega328 and ATmega328PB · GitHub for the PB version.

I'm not sure if it will solve the issue.

You may also need to install the driver for ch340.

Check you have a data type cable , not a charger cable .

IMO always worth buying a genuine board from Arduino , which will (?) work straight out of the box . When you know your stuff , drop into the murky world of clones . It’s not unknown to get faulty clones

Did you check the 'Related Posts' at the bottom? This is a common Windows (mostly) issue.

Where did you get the board from (link) ?

What board do you have selected in the IDE ?

Have you tried plugging into a different USB port/hub, i found that the USB-c programmer i have actually only fully works if i plug it into a USB-A hub with a conversion cable

And of course, have you tried a different cable ?

I love the challenge of getting it to work though and i nearly always succeed !

But you are asking others to sort it out, that’s why you normally succeed !!

No i don't ask others to sort it out (please retract that )

But that is the point of the forum to ask others to help you out , find others with the same issue, discuss things , which what you have done .. and those that contribute to you finding your solution have helped you.

note the jokey face in my post

I was pointing towards possible solutions, i did not ask for any help on the matter and to be honest i have never asked for help on uploading issues, not even on esp8285 boards.

I succeed because i persevere and research.

Seems like you are laughing at me not at yourself. I suspect you just confused me with the OP.

what MCU is on that board? (read the model from the chip not from the vendor)

Yes , I apologise for that , got you confused and the comedy post failed .

Sorry

Apologies accepted.
