Need help with .wav sound triggers with light sensors

Hi!

I am brand new to the world of electronics and arduino- I am coming from a sound design background.

Currently, I am pitching a sound installation where, when boxes are opened, they play different .wav files (light triggers the sounds).

In my intro research, I have determined that I will need an arduino, the sensors, and either a waveshield or a dfplayer mini.

Beyond this, I have no idea what code to start with, or any of the logistics. Does anyone have any advice, tutorials or tips?

Thank you so much!

Welcome to the group.

Lots to learn, take it slow.

Look at this post.

To detect when a box opens, a "microswitch" like these is commonly used. They come in many shapes and sizes.
Capture

There are a number of inexpensive Arduino-compatible modules that can play sound files.

Tutorials for both come with the Arduino software development package, or are available on line.
