Nesso N1 and MyQ

So i bought this Nesso N1 in hopes of getting it to work with the MyQ garage door openers, mainly because our garage door opener stopped connecting to the MyQ app and is no longer controllable.

That being said, with a bit of research, I found the HomeAssistant and that it can work with Arduino. Ultimately, i would like to connect to the HA app and know if the garage door is open or closed, and be able to close or open it.

Unless someone already has the sketch for this, it is looking like the HA sensor code i need is on Github, any help would be appreciated to get this running.

#include <Ethernet.h>
#include <ArduinoHA.h>

#define BROKER_ADDR IPAddress(192,168,0,17)

byte mac[] = {0x00, 0x10, 0xFA, 0x6E, 0x38, 0x4A};

EthernetClient client;
HADevice device(mac, sizeof(mac));
HAMqtt mqtt(client, device);

// "MyQ" is unique ID of the sensor. You should define your own ID.
HASensor valve("MyQ");

void setup() {
    // you don't need to verify return status
    Ethernet.begin(mac);

    // set device's details (optional)
    device.setName("Arduino");
    device.setSoftwareVersion("1.0.0");

    // configure sensor (optional)
    valve.setIcon("mdi:home");
    valve.setName("Garage Door 1");

    mqtt.begin(BROKER_ADDR);
}

void loop() {
    Ethernet.maintain();
    mqtt.loop();

    // you can report different states as follows:
    valve.setValue("open");
    valve.setValue("opening");
    valve.setValue("closed");
    valve.setValue("closing");

    // Unlike the other device types, the HASensor doesn't store the previous value that was set.
    // It means that the MQTT message is produced each time the setValue method is called.
}

Hi @Sonicboom ,

Never used HA before..

Looking at the code you posted, you need to swap Ethernet for Wifi..

Take a look at the esp32-cam demo in their git, use the startup in it for the code you posted..

good luck.. ~q
