Nesso N1: Ergonomics and me

I feel lucky that I did not break my Nesso N1, and for a moment I thought I had destroyed it (no running "hello, world!" in the serial monitor, no upload, no system chime, no device manager entry).

Has Arduino tested-to-failure a Nesso N1 in the hands of a bumbling, old man... like this... The USB-C cable end fits perfectly into the Nesso N1's Grove connector, and if lighting is just right, my sausage fingers and fading eyesight do not notice the empty Nesoo USB-C slot. It just gives me this face : |

The Arduino testing mentioned above: When the USB cable is inserted into the Nesso Grove connector, do the USB-C power pins physically contact any pin on the Grove connector (data or power)... and if the test-to-failure has been done... what will the symptoms be?

To avoid doing this to myself, I have a dedicated USB-C cable for my Nesso N1. I hate it when I have to child-proof my stuff against myself. Lucky me, though.

need like a soft slug to protect it..

like USB covers..

Aha, the Cannon plug dust cap.

maybe they make them specifically for those idc connectors..

or maybe a usbc slug would fit..

or get some plugs and don’t put wires in it..

A simple plug can be made by cutting a piece of pink antistatic foam to shape with scissors. Leave enough extra length on the plug to give you something to grab for easy removal.

Not ideal, but can be made in a manner of seconds from a material most of us have on hand.
