No device found Arduino Due

Hello everybody,

i have got a problem with the arduino due board. I bought two boards and both have worked without any problem. After some experiments with one of the boards, the arduino software (1.5.2 on windows) can't find the device anymore. Windows detects the arduino board under COM Port 4. I can find the COM Port 4 in the Arduino Software as well. But if i try to upload the software I get the error message that says "no device found on COM Port 4".
Therefore I have used the second board for a while. Now i have the same problem with this board.
I have tried 4 different computers, one with linux (ubuntu) installed. Furthermore i pushed the erase button and the reset button very often  - separate and togther. Nothing helps.

I am positive that the voltage on the different Ports during my measurements are all under 3.3 V and I am just measure the potential difference over some resistances in electric circuits, therefore i don't use the current output of the board.

Has anybody other suggestions? Is this behaviour a signal for a broken board?

Thanks for your help in advance.

So they both stopped working after some use?

Did you fry both boards with 5v from usb?

Yes they both stopped working after some use.

During my measurements both Baords are connected with the computer via usb and thereby the boards used the current supply of the usb connection. How can i fry the board via the usb connection? This connection is realised for the 5V, is it?

The due is 3v tolerant if you shorted or fed 5v from the onboard regulator and you touched accidentally one of the pins from the chip... poof

Main reason why i bought one, played a wav file off of memory card to an amplifier... um connected an ethernet shield it all good... back in it's cardboard box with it's stickers lol, i'm scared i'd easily connect a 5v rail to the chip etc so for now in it's box it stays
