Old Portable DVD player

hey guys, i have this old portable dvd player by audiovox, before i throw it away, is there any thing i can use the screen for, maybe interface it with arduino? Please, any ideas will help

not arduino related, but take a look at the datasheet for the screen's controller. if you find a red, green, blue, hsync, and vsync line you can splice a vga signal into it and use it as a computer monitor. nifty for case mods

You might be able to drive it with an Arduino depending on what it is, if you can find the model number maybe we can dig for more information

Instead of throwing it away I would suggest either handing it over to responsible recycler or selling it on ebay for parts or repair

you may be able to put composite video into it.

Since it is a DVD player it probably already has composite inputs built-in the circuitboard driving the LCD

yes, it has inout pins, this is what i was thinking, to have the arduino tell the lcd (with speakers) to perform some noise or image via audio/video inputs

I really thought that this was not a good idea but then i found this posthttp://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1187659197/0

which got me thinking that this could be possible

Sorry my sentence got in the way.
