Orion Servo Shield

Hi,

I`m Juergen (Friends say Barney to me) from Germany and new in this forum.
My english is very bad and I hope, you can unterstand me.

I bought a robot arm from lynxmotion without electronic. I hope to control it with arduino. An arduino uno ist ordered. First i will learn to program the board. Last but not least I want to control 6 servos.

Now may first question: in the arduino servo-library I miss an instruction to control servo-speed. Is this right?

Maybe I want to buy an Orion servo Shield.

But I find on the arduino homepage no library. Can you help me?

That's correct. You typically control the speed of the servo by setting delays between the intermediate positions. For example, you can tell it to move from 0 degrees directly to 90 degrees and it will do so quickly, or you can tell it to move from 0 to 5 degrees, delay, to 10 degrees, delay, to 15 degrees, etc. and in that way control the speed.

Orion Robotics is responsibile for their own libraries. If you can't get support for their products then don't buy their products.

The Orion info says "It was designed to drive 24 servos directly using only the Arduino SPI port.". You may want to verify use of the SPI port wont conflict with other components you want to use.
