OTA upload never completes

Continuing the discussion from The Upload button does not work:

At the moment, I’m experiencing the same problem. The issue occurs when uploading via the Arduino Cloud. Does anybody know what could be causing this? @ptillisch

Hi @roonl. Just so I can be sure I understand, please provide a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing. Multiple problems have now been mentioned in this discussion, so I'm not certain I know which specific one you are referring to.

Does the problem still occur if you try it now?

Hi @ptillisch , At the moment, I’m experiencing the same problem. The issue occurs when uploading via the Arduino Cloud.

Verifying works without any problems. The upload process also seems to start normally, until it says: “Starting Over-The-Air update attempt...” After that, nothing happens.

I have left it running for more than 10 minutes, but it just keeps saying that it is uploading. During this process, the Arduino disconnects from the Cloud.

If I unplug the Arduino from the power source and restart it, the old sketch is still there and works normally. So the new sketch is clearly not being uploaded. Added a screenshot where the process stays:

Hi Per, I just tested with a simple program "cloud Blink" , but this is simple sketch. But also no uploading process can be completed.

can you please check it again? I also see that it says that it is completed the proces, but this is not the case:

Testing extra:

I tested it again with an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi. The sketch verifies successfully, but the OTA upload gets stuck at:

“Starting Over-The-Air update attempt...”

I have also tested the same board via USB. Uploading via USB works correctly, and after restarting the board it connects to Arduino Cloud again.

So in my case the board itself and the sketch appear to be working correctly, but the Arduino Cloud OTA upload still does not complete.

HI @ptillisch , Just tested an Arduini R4 wifi 22 september , but still the same process, standig still at : Console

  • Starting Over-The-Air update attempt...

I confirm the bug with OTA uploads. This has been reported to the Arduino Cloud developers. I'll post an update here if I receive any news from them on the subject.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

From the information we have so far, this is not in any way related to the resolved bug with uploading via USB that was discussed in The Upload button does not work. As you noted, USB uploads are working now.

If possible, please use USB uploads until we can get OTA working again.

Hello again @roonl. The bug has now been fixed.

If you still have a pending OTA upload from the time when the bug was present, you will need to cancel it. You can do that by hovering the mouse pointer over the "Pending..." button on the Arduino Cloud Editor toolbar, then clicking the X icon that will appear on the button.

After cancelling the hung upload, trigger a new OTA upload. Hopefully it will be successful this time.

Please let us know if you still encounter any problems using Arduino Cloud.
