Hello Arduino enthusiasts! I am working on a project to create a 32x126 LED dot matrix display using 4-in-1 MAX7219 modules. of ( 16 ) The display will show the current date and time, using an Arduino Mega and an RTC module for timekeeping. This is part of my college submission project, and I want to make it accurate, efficient, and visually appealing.
Current Progress:
Hardware:
Arduino Mega is connected to the MAX7219 4-in-1 modules (arranged in a 32x126 configuration).
RTC module is attached for accurate timekeeping.
Consultancy Details:
I am offering ₹1,500 INR as a consultancy fee to anyone who can help resolve these challenges.
Wasn't there the exact same project some days ago? The guy offerd 1k INR, so however takes this generouse offer could already make 30$!
I'm just wondering if the professors giving the course are aware of this forum ... and if they might read the threads?
edit: Oh, the other thread is from the same guy, sorry ...
Most of them are aware, it's just that they don't care. As long as there is some electronics to show and the project report is submitted, their job is done.
If anyone wishes to provide free assistance, please use that topic. This topic will be dedicated exclusively to any discussion of the offer of payment in return for consultation services.
That made me pause for a moment but then I realized it could be interpreted two ways.
The engineer's salary or a consultant's fee?
$50 x 2,080 (average work hours per year) is $104,000 which is in the ballpark of an average software engineer's salary, although that does not include benefits, vacation time, etc.
Finding "official" freelance rates is harder because they vary so much, but a freelancer or consulting engineer's rate is closer to $150 - $250/hour in my experience. Software Development Consulting Rates in 2025
Actually, I would love it if someone found a US government-based source of this information. I looked on the BLS site (not very hard) but couldn't find anything about software consulting.
I'm from India and I can attest to the fact that the amount offered by the OP is way below average.
I have seen students paying for projects throughout my college time, but I don't recall consultants charging anything less than 10,000 INR for a project.
Being a student, if you are not willing to learn, you need to be willing to pay, nobody is entitled to do this for you at such a low rate.
Is the education in India paid or free for students?
If someone not willing to learn - wouldn't it be better to make room for another student who has a desire to study?
Nothing is free, private colleges charge hefty annual fees, but the quality of education varies widely.
At the top are Tier-1 institutions like the IITs, renowned for their rigorous admissions and producing global leaders like Sundar Pichai of Google.
Tier-2 colleges also offer quality education and foster innovation, but the majority are Tier-3 colleges, which are far more numerous.
These institutions often provide subpar education with little emphasis on learning or innovation, though they have ample seats to accommodate students.
Engineering remains the default career choice for many Indian parents, regardless of their child's interests. This mindset fills Tier-3 colleges with students who are often uninterested in the subject and aim only to secure a degree, a trend that has persisted for decades.
