Hello, I am trying to develop a code to control a DVD player with an Arduino. I would like the video to pause for a certain amount of time when an accelerometer is moved. I was able to develop a code that sends keystrokes (can provide for clarity) and works when watching the video on VLC Media Player but, I would like to change this over to a DVD player. I would like the original remote and the Arduino to both have the capability to communicate with the DVD player. I have not purchased a DVD player yet, as I'm unsure which type would be best suited for this application. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Buy an Arduino, an IR receiver and start exploring how to read the signals, the codes from just any remote You have. When You manage that You know how to handle the future DVD player.
