piranha led

I have some piranha common cathode leds that I would like to use with pwm. These leds have 4 pins which are arranged in a square. I'd like to put them on a breadboard but can't figure out how mount them so each pin is separate from the others in the circuit. Any suggestions? Graybeard

Is it possible to put them with 2 legs on each side of the "IC groove" in the middle of the bread board ?

Are they like this?

They aren't big enough to straddle the center groove. I turn it just slightly clockwise, and then each pin fits in one "knight's move" away from each other pin, so they're in different columns.

See also my Playground project that uses this trick (though my LEDs are common anode). The "Pummer" class in that code may be useful to you.

Ah yes, i know these LED's.
Im getting quite the collection of them...

The breadboard thing bothered me and i ended up cutting a little strip of veroboard to put two of them on, worked out nicely so i can "plug" it directly into the arduino.

Also, can i ask what youre trying to do with these leds? Im working on an RGB lighting system myself, what are you planning?

Thanks for the suggestions. Turning the led should work. As to future plans - at this time I'm just playing with the devices in order to learn how things work. Graybeard
