I am new to this and not familiar with various brands of servos. I am hoping that I can explain what I will be using it for and you can reccomend me what to buy.

- Need to withstand heat of being mounted under the hood of my car

All three of those requirements would need actual numbers, specifications for anyone here to be able to recommend a specific servo. Perhaps is you just searched through a couple of name brand servo manufactures sites you can match your specs to what they have to offer:

That is mostly what I was looking for, as I do not know in the servo industry what is good vs knock off garbage.
Should it fail, the valve would slam shut and the car uses a SD boost referenced tune, I drive it around every day with the valve closed now so it would revert back to stock. No harm no foul.

I would look at a hitec HSR-5990TG, one of the best servo's out there.
