Pololu QTR Reflectence Sensor

I am trying to interface my Arduino with a reflectance sensor. I have a question regarding my setup.

Part in question is Reflectance Sensor - ROB-08906 - SparkFun Electronics

When i connect it to my Arduino i used +5v to vin , ground to ground and out pin to an 330 ohm resistor which is connected to the digital pin 9.

Since i am supplying the +5v from Arduino do i still need to put a resistor in between? and Does it effect the readings?

Schematic here http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Robotics/QTR1RCreflectancesensor.jpeg shows a resistor on out does that mean it is built in? or Is my setup correct?

Thanks...

The way this product works is that it measures the time to discharge a capacitor through that resistor to measure light. So yes you do need it and from looking at the photograph yes it is built in.

ok,

so i can take out my own resistor that i put?

there is no danger of damaging the board.

there is no danger of damaging the board.

None what so ever.
