Hello i have a portentat X8 and i was to get familiar with it but i notice that the temperature get increased over time even in Idle state. while i cannot monitor the temperature, I left it running on idle state for 1 hour and suddenly it freeze and not responsive through the web shell or SSH.
have anyone faced the same issue ? is there any way the solve it ?
Check the voltages, if high it will cause it to heat. Check the loads. Post a block diagram if you have external devices connected to it.
thank you for the suggestions, i am only connecting the USB cable to my laptop. i don't have anything connected to the portenta as well
I was only connecting to the laptop as well, got up to about 64C before it would start behaving as you described. Using the breakout board seemed to have helped transfer some of the heat via the high density connector. I ended up buying a USB fan and keeping it going 24/7 and I see my temps drop to about 38C-41C idle.
Could you share what fan did you use? just to have some reference for search. Thanks
