power input to arduino

I am using an adafruit motor shield with arduino. I have a power adaptor with rating 15V-1A. Will it be okay to use it with arduino?

i am trying to supply external power to the shield. there are 2 stepper motors and a servo connected to the shield.

I can't see anything on the Adafruit motor shield info that says 15V will be o.k. It talks about 5V-12v.

And 1A is unlikely to be nearly enough for 2 motors and a servo. Can't be more definite since you've given no details.
