Power Supply - what is N.C. and FG on 24vDC supply

Hey I have a 24v 2A printer power supply and i want to make the printer run off batteries.

I have two 12V 4A batteries and will connect them in series. My question is that the power supply has two connections i don't know. One is N.C. and the other is FG. Anybody have any hints?

Do i need to connect them or can I just use my battery and the + & GND into the printer?

Thanks in advance!

NC is usually "Not Connected" and FG is usually "Frame Ground".

With batteries I would not worry about them.

On a relay, "NC" usually means "Normally Closed", as opposed to "NO" for "Normally Open". But on just about anything else, "NC" stands for "Not Connected" or "No Connection". It's used on devices where there's a spare connector terminal that isn't used, and hence has no wires connected to it. A bit like the old "This Page Intentionally Left Blank" message!

"FG" is "Frame Ground", referring to the ground connection to the metal chassis of the power supply. Should be connected to the mains earth via the green or green-and-yellow conductor in the mains cable (power cord).

Hey that is great!

Thanks a lot!
