pro mini FTDI fail after writing program

Hi,
I am new to the forum thing so bear with me..
I have an arduino pro mini and I usually use an UNO to program the boards. Recently I purchased an FT232RL USB to TTL module to rid of some bulkiness. Although I have not been able to successfully finish uploading a sketch.

I'm running windows 7 and I installed the drivers from FTDI web site.
pins are hooked up like so.
pro mini - FTDI module
BLK - GND
GND - CTS
VCC - VCC
RXI - TXD
TXO - RXD
GRN - DTR

My pro mini has an onboard cap and the FTDI seems to have auto reset. When I upload a sketch things go well untill its almost done writing the sketch then I get errors. Although when trying to upload a blink sketch, the pro mini will blink as if the sketch was uploaded just fine.

I turned on the verbose during upload and this is what I get.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

I have not found anything like this. Any Thoughts?

Thanks
