I have an Arduino clone from AzDelivery and try to reuse it. Since uploading a new sketch was not possible anymore I tried burning the bootloader again and uploading the standard 'blink' sketch.
I used an original UNO as programmer with help from this article. My programming setup is

In the past this was enough to get a 'clean' Nano. Uploading a sketch (after setting the IDE back to "AVRISP mkll") yields following result

I am not sure what this means. Is the bootloader burned correctly? Is the device ready for upload?
Reuploading the ArduinoISP sketch to the UNO had no effect
Rewiring had no effect
I burned and uploaded multiple Nanos today and one gives me troubles. Since some kind of communication is happening between the UNO and Nano (blinking while burning) I do not believe the device is lost, but can not figure out what the error is.
Over the weekend I sorted my uC's and wanted to check my unused original Arduinos (3xUnos, 5xNanos, 1xMega,...). The UNOs worked out of the box (example->Blink). The Nanos did not have a working bootloader since I was unable to upload any code. I tried both Nano-processors ATmega328P, ATmega32P (old bootloader) and even with the platform
UNO*.
Therefore I tried to burn the bootloader with the tutorials above. I tried the bootloader for

The output window acknowledges the process -> done burning bootloader.
None of the original Nanos were able to upload sketches after the burning of the bootloader. I tried every variation I can think of:
ArduinoIDE (burn as Atmega328P, old bootloader UNO)
VSCode w PlatformIO (burn as Atmega328P, old bootloader UNO)
On Win10, Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 16.10
The results were the same -> unable to upload sketches via serial upload.
Now the odd thing: Programming the sketch via the UNO over ISP works. The serial monitor return the correct values also.
I am not sure if I am missing something or if there is a bug in the ISP-sketch or the burning process. I also have no indication that the burning process went wrong or that any of the hardware is defect.
