problem need to replace burnt electronic card by arduino

i have a problem with burnt electronic card that was working in cans capping machine
the card has 2 input proximity pnp NO switch (first proximity on can entering for capping & second proximity on cap that moving to capping the entering can) and if can enter and no cap moved to it the machine make alarm and stop by energizing relay that make the alarm.
i need to replace it by arduino any one can help me please.

Have you determined why the original card burned and how you will keep the Arduino from burning? What is your experience programming the Arduino?
