When I connect my Arduino Mega 2560 to the computer using USB, it says that windows does not recognize the device, and the ports are not showing for me to be able to upload my sketch. And also, the L (Pin 13) LED will light up and then turn off permanently after 2-3 seconds. What could possibly be the problem?
Is this a genuine Arduino or a clone?
Is this the first time you are using the board?
Are you sure the USB cable you are using is not a charging only cable?
Do you have anything else connected to the board?
It is a genuine Arduino. And no, we already used it before and it's just working perfectly fine. I don't see any problem with the cable and we don't connect anything to it everytime we try to upload aside from the USB cable
Well, if it worked before and now Windows does not even see it, then you probably did something that damaged the board. When you used it did you have it laying on any metal surface?
You can try with a different cable. Also notice, if the USB to serial converter chip is getting hot. If yes, maybe the USB to serial converter chip has been damaged.
just install this usb driver and select it in ur device manager CH340 Windows 10 driver download | arduined.eu
@marlonb, a genuine Mega does not use a CH340 serial-to-usb converter.
not ok sorry
