Moderator edit: CODE TAGS.

needs some help as i'm a newbie to arduino programming

PS2X_libary.cpp:1:22: error: PS2X_lib.h: No such file or directory

Suggests that you don't have the library installed correctly.

Maybe you copied the .cpp file but not the .h one ?

how do i install the library?

Hi,
you should have a directory for your library under c:\arduino-1.0\libraries with PS2X_lib.h and some .cpp files inside.

Lots of strings there - hope you've got lots of RAM

Hi,
you should have a directory for your library under c:\arduino-1.0\libraries with PS2X_lib.h and some .cpp files inside.

No, it should be in a libraries folder in your sketchbook folder. Your sketchbook folder will be somewhere in your 'home' folder. The c:\arduino-1.0\libraries folder is for the Arduino supplied libraries.

what do i do when i have found the library file?

Inside your sketchbook\libraries folder, you should have a folder named 'PS2X_lib'. Inside that folder should be PS2X_lib.h, PS2X_lib.cpp, keywords.txt and an examples folder.
