Problems uploading sketch

I am just getting into using an Arduino for a project and I went to upload the sketch onto the Arduino and I got this error

Which board?
Which operating system?
Which version of the IDE?

Please enable verbose output during upload and disable verbose output during compilation in file/preferences in the IDE. Next perform an upload and post the results here.

For the Nano, you have 3 options for the processor in the tools menu. Based on the output that you have provided you did choose the 328P option. Try the "old bootloader" option; although ai do not now for sure that you have a clone, most clones require that option. Some clones come with the 168 processor, so that is another option to try.
