Hello folks,
I'm facing a problem and don't know what to do next.
I have a stepper motor driver DM542T version 2.3 and the new version 4.0. I bought the new version because it allows 200 pulses/rev and I need this function. With the old version, the stepper motor runs as it should. Now I have connected the version 4.0 identically and the motor just hums.
I have absolutely no idea why. I have very little experience with this.
Does anyone know the new version and whether you have to consider/adjust anything else.
Is it possible that the driver is simply defective? The green lamp lights up and something is happening in the engine.
I hope someone has an advice or tip for me and can help me because I need this driver and function in time..
Hi there,
here is some information about the code, the wiring and the driver
I checked the wiring, everything is correct. If I plug the cable directly into my driver version 2.3, the stepper works. With driver version 4.0, the motor does not rotate. The driver is new, I have never used it.
Is it possibly defective?
I am having the same issue, specifically with DM542T v4.0. Both steppers work just fine on the old version, and all wiring and current settings seem correct. Now sure what is going on. I have tried two different v4.0 drivers.
x2. The manual states on page 2 that for the PUL and DIR connections, the 5v-24v switch on the end is what dictates those. If your signal to them is 5V (most likely since we're on an Arduino forum lol) then the switch needs to be that. I was having the same issues as you folks. Saw @chiooxx's comment, pulled up the manual, and it clicked. Flipped the switch and I was off and running. Sometimes it helps to read the manual hahaha.
Here's a photo of the little switch on my 542T's that I had to change. Now my system is working properly. I moved it down away from the connections and DIP switches,
