Project ideas (opinion)

Im looking for project suggestions! intuitively this may sound like im not utilizing the web enough, however I deem it not.

furthur on the topic, im a relative beginner arduino learner and would like to ask for what Y'All, the community might think is "sophisticated" and not some simple down plant hydration checker.

I have and arduino nano(basic), arduino uno, arduino mega(basic) and a teensy 4.1(I bought this bc i was amazed with it's processing power) at my disposal.

I have a main project going on right now, its a pure transitor-transitor logic digital clock with 7 segment displays with some functionality to adjust time and others, to challenge my understanding of digital logic.

On the other hand, I dont currently have an idea I think is"sophisticated" to my taste, as so, I wish for your input on the topic, anything, you personally thought to be hard (that a 17yr highschooler can do, with the MCUs i have right now, i dont wanna use too much of my mother's money) and share them with me.

As for my "level of understanding" on arduino you may judge with a few projects i've done in the past on my github, both LEDMatrix and 7-segment-display are scrappy libraries I've written in my own general understanding of the C/C++ language, each example file is either a guide or a project in itself.
i think it is quite evident i like dynamic programming, just not to the point of getting absolutely into it (dont tell me to do leetcode questions, i tried, i can't.) and i cant put down the passion for electronics either so here we are. XD

Conclusively this could sound like a weird post to read, just, provide some "complicated ideas", or if you don't have any "judge" meh!

Get inspired...

Over 40 years ago (ouch!), when I was not much older than you are now, I lay in bed listening to the heating going on and off controlled by a thermocouple based thermostat, I thought I could do better. Over the years I've built many heating controllers, each an improvement on the one before. Current version has a touch screen and the heating is divided into 4 zones.

So I'm thinking it's a bed mattress heater and the heat can be adjusted on each quarter? :open_mouth:
Were you not any afraid of over heating and causing a fire?
(Just asking bc in Malaysia fire extinguishers aren't popularized maybe in your country every home has one)
Did you have any precautionary steps?

There you go! Excellent project idea!

My controller is for the heating in my house.

Here's another idea:
