Question about the enb and ena pins

on my motor controller: L298N the ena and enb pins needs 4 jumper wires. I understand where the front two go of each set go, they go to a pins on the Arduino but where is the second supposed to go? I tried grounding it but it won't start the motors and sending it to a power spot shorts the circuit.

Any help on where the second set of pins is supposed to go?

If the ENA and ENB jumpers are installed, the motors will run at full speed.

If you want to vary the motor speeds, remove the jumpers then attach a PWM Arduino pin to each of these.

I did part of that I believe. This is what I mean there are 4 total pins. Two of them go to the arduino but the other 2 Idk where they belong

The two pins marked with ? are 5v.

If you use the Enable pins to control the motors speed, these two ? pins are not used.
