Using IDE 2.0.1 with D1 Mini and Uno R3 with no problems regarding connection.
Today first contact with R4 Minima, no connection. Tried different USB cables and all 4 USB ports (no hubs), even a second R4 board. Double clicking reset. Nothing...
IDE is updated to my knowledge. No obvious(!) interference from AntiVirus.
Power is on board (green led on, yellow flashing). Device manager does not recognise this device.
I'm pretty sure this is not about hardware. Qualified help is very much appreciated!
Thank you, I wasn't aware that the IDE was not up to date, as I clicked the update button just some hours ago. 2.2.1 is now up and running, same behaviour as before.
Please, can you explain what Arduino Renesas UNO platform version means? Is that a hardware version of the processor chip? Where can I find this? And how can I change this?
Please use the screenshot below as reference for my explanation
A platform is a set of source code, supporting tools and compile/upload recipes.
Using the boards manager (1) you can have access to installable and installed platforms.
In the search box (2) you can type the name of the board you're trying to install support for.
It will give you available results.
The platform you need to install is Arduino UNO R4 Boards.
The button (3) in my case says "UPDATE", but if you don't have it installed at all it will say "INSTALL".
Install this platform and your board should be recognised.
After connecting a 8266, I get the connection ping and can see the device in the device manager as "USB-Verbundgerät" (USB composite device(?)).
R4 still does not get recognised on this level, no ping, nothing. This seems to be the lead, unfortunately I have no skills to further investigate this.
Using USBDeview, I tried to tidy up what was gathered over the years. No trash found. Deleting the device an reconnecting still not works for R4 but perfect for 8266.
Yes, tried double-reset, got the breath but no change.
I purchased two boards at Reichelt Elektronik, after the checkout process on the arduino page failed twice. One package seemed to be opened before, the other seemed untouched. Both behave identically.
I'm on Windows 10.
No DFU capable USB device available
Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 74
I think I'm gonna send them back and either go to R3 or transfer this project to a revolutionary 4x8266 architecture... B)
Thanks for your help.
As far as I got it, my problem is different, because my device does not get connected at all via USB (no device in the device manager, no connection ping).
But I learned that there are cruel things like charge-only USB cables. I'm not sure if any of the cables I tried was suited for data transfer. Maybe that's the simple solution, it would explain everything. I'll report back on this...
"DFU-RT Port" has no drivers installed. I can't find any.
Seems, dpinst-amd64.exe may be part of the solution, but I can't find this on my computer, either. Research leads me to the conclusion that this exe has become obsolete.
I'm really not good at this administrating stuff. Should I try to install dpinst-amd64.exe?
This thread can be closed unsolved. I just got sick of this and sent the R4 back. Switching to R3 with working upload connection. Thanks to everybody for helping, at least I learnt something...
